Editorial: What ARE they doing behind our back...??

Choosing the cover for your magazine is always a fascinating process. We want it to express the season; the content and theme of a specific issue; it has to be simple, striking, heart-warming, interesting (just like our readers!) and...and. Plus, both Yuri and I have to agree, although we are so very different (and nicely so, we might add). One of our choices was to use the wording "Everything we need is here - Now!"

I love that quote, because it brings us back into the moment, to each other and to what is actually happening all around us already. It creates the sensation of settling into time not as linear (as in the Gregorian calendar) but as "radial", namely "time as art" - connected to nature and to our cosmic rhythms. The Mayan 13-moon calendar expresses this so powerfully.

It's a little hard to relate to the concept of time as art until we get that Now-feeling of "time as radial" - even holographic. Well, my image and symbol for us with this issue had been "360" for some reason.(In organizational consulting, a 360 Instrument is a test where we gather feedback for someone about all the things they may not know about themselves, the stuff "behind their back".) That association confused me until I realized how it relates to this issue: Time as Now, as radial, even holographic. Everything we need is here - NOW.

Have you noticed how many amazing things are already happening in your own neighborhoods and environments? I just discovered an embarrassing thing, namely the fact that yours truly, who promised you an article about building dwellings between $50.- and $50.000.-, was completely oblivious of an organization only 2 ½ hours away - CAL Earth, an organization which has been at the cutting edge of Earth and Ceramic Architecture technologies for over twenty years. Ooops - "behind my back" 180 degrees?! Founded in 1986 by its late director, Nader Khalili, its technical innovations have been published by NASA for lunar and Martian construction because of its housing design and development for the world's homeless for the United Nations..." with its philosophy based on the equilibrium of the natural elements of earth, water, air, fire." They erect the most fabulous earth-based buildings in no time at all by using long bags, filled with earth and then coil them up and secure them - with great earthquake ratings.

Then there is Quail Springs Permaculture Center, two hours from here, which attracts people from all over the world but few people here have ever heard about it. “Behind my back”, a few streets over, a friend of mine along with her neighbors co-created a tiny village of sorts and have enjoyed it for many years. They meet, eat together sometimes, collect recyclables together to make things easier for each other. Had she not mentioned it in some or other conversation, I would have never known what goes on right behind me.

Or look inside this issue, what's been going on all over the world regarding local currencies! So, “everything we need is here” can have so many meanings: inside ourselves; in our relationships; in our communities. But then, also, after looking 360 degrees, if we don't find what we need, we move on courageously, as Yuri and Irina are doing with their new Space of Love Kin's domain - to find our dreams where they are waiting to be discovered.

Meanwhile, we all do need to prepare - because the world is coming to ground itself and we are all looking to fall softly into our various, well-prepared nests. Are you ready?

Statement of Purpose

 We recognize the present time as a transitional period for humanity, with massive transformations on their way to a new era of more refined dimensions. With this in mind we consider this a final call - of Nature and of Divine Mind - to carefully collect and spread the information about Space of Love so as to assist people with this transition gracefully and joyfully into a new era of Love and Harmony. We are all co-creators of some or other Space of Love, and of our planet , and with the help of Nature, we truly learn and contribute from our heart.
